Hi,
I had an auto accident in Dec 2007. I had hit a car in the back. My and other party’s car is fixed. The claim is still open with my insurance company. Is it safe to keep it open or should I contact my claim rep and ask to close it?

Best answer:

Answer by Karen B
If it’s still open then they might have a medical claim against them (from the other party) You can’t ask an ins. company the close a claim- They will close the claim when all is settled – believe me, they want it closed as quickly as you do!

I have an auto insurance policy with my spouse. He was in an accident and filed a claim. He is not planning to buy another car and is going to use public transport. If I drop him from my policy, will my rates still go up because of his claim even though I was not involved in the accident? If I go with a different insurance company only for myself, will they also quote higher rates because of the claim?

Best answer:

Answer by dick_tracy
since you are married you are like one in cali ( I dont know where you are) but if you are in cali his rates would effect you because you are married to him. Alot of insurance companys go by the registration so if he is on there he would pose a problem but if not you could get away with it. let the agent you are working with know. they cant help you if they dont know whats going on. If they dont help move on. You would be suprised on what companys work with you.

Our auto was hit and totaled the other day.
We are waiting for our insurance company to complete their adjustment work because the person that hit us had no insurance. Do insurance companies pay the blue book price or just what is owed on the auto? Will they low ball us because it is our company?

Best answer:

Answer by Jack
Neither, example: Say you owe $ 5,000 on your car. Insurance company will take into consideration the mileage, condition, etc.. The insurance company says your car is totaled. They may say your car was only worth $ 4,000. You will owe the difference, being $ 1,000.

Finest solution:

Solution by trooper3316
The mediator is an impartial individual who assists the parties in reaching a selection. If the mediation is not sucessful, the case will go to trial.

The events concerned in the incident could not even be required to go to.
