The Rapid Car/auto Charger seems to be working just fine with no apparent problems. My only concern is the short cord.

Insufficient cord length. Bought another product for less that we can actually us in the car and read while using, and kicked myself in the tail for not returning it.

I have long since found that reading a book while traveling, waiting for service, etc., cuts the time; like the per verbally “a watched pot never boils.” Personally, I have found this car adapter recharger for the Kindle 2, which I received about a couple months ago, to be a benefit, since it allows me to recharge my Kindle when I have taken it with me on errands, shopping, or someplace, where I find myself waiting for what is like an indeterminate time.
This gives you the option of recharging the Kindle, when you have forgotten to do so, or need to, while driving, when an outlet is not available. Recharging is particularly necessary when you have the wireless turned on. If you receive that notification of turning off the wireless to save battery power, being able to recharge it in the car is a nice option.
This came in handy on a recent vacation trip that required us to drive 90 minutes between our hotel and places of interest we were visiting; this allowed me to recharge my Kindle, which had information on some of our points of interest. It was convenient not to solely rely on the outlet recharger.
A variety of colors, other than just black would be beneficial, since the size and shape of this car charger is similar to another I have for a different item.
