My insurance doesn’t cover this procedure. How much does it cost? The doctor’s office won’t tell me what a simple screening costs.

    It is totally dependent on the hospital. Realistically, look in the low thousands (1-4) after paying for the room, anesthesia, procedure, recovery room, analysis and follow up. If your insurance doesn’t cover the procedure, they may still cover the follow up office visit.

    You cant get a quote due to the likelihood of complications (however unlikely).
    without ever wanting to be quoted on this $250-$450 is a ballpark

    Some info on the procedure;

    the best way to give you an answer to why you cant get a straight answer is in the last link. A great article from the Pittsburgh Post Gazette

    Mty suggestion is to move to a country wth health care. In Australia, the cost is a plane fare and Australian residency. Health care should be a right not a bloody privilege! It is one thing the US of A has up the creek.

    Just had one done a couple of months ago. Total cost for my insurance company was $1800. Might be less without insurance. But if it issomething you need done, the money is better than the alternative.
